TICOS project tp057 receives offset funding
TICOS is pleased to announce that another of its carbon saving projects has now received funding and is being implemented. Project TP057 seeks to reduce poverty and alleviate the difficult energy situation that South Africa is currently experiencing. It provides subsidised solar and fuel-efficient stoves to poor communities, allowing families to move away from open-fire cooking which requires enormous amounts of wood fuel and often leads to smoke-related illnesses.
It is currently being jointly funded by the following TICOS Service Users, Ski Safari, Blue Ventures, Bushbaby Travel and Real Africa. A further Service User, The Adventure Company, is exclusively funding stoves for Soweto. Funding opportunities are still available for this project and if you would like your company to contribute offset funds then please contact the TICOS Operations Manager, Lisa Minty, for more information.
