Project Details

The aim of this project is to restore an 18th century mill wheel of an award-winning restaurant, Craggan Mill, which is located in Grantown-on-Spey, part of the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland.  The mill wheel is currently silent and the water is currently piped under the grounds of the restaurant site.  Once the waterwheel has been restored, it will provide ‘renewable’ water driven energy to power the restaurant and even maybe to feed some power to the national grid.  With the mill wheel turning the water will be aerated and thus offer a better water quality down stream of the mill wheel.
