A new worldwide survey of key climate decision-makers shows strong and consistent views that government leaders worldwide need to act quickly and agree on a set of clear, inclusive, and long-term policies in order to put climate solutions in place.
There was a surprisingly strong consensus on the need to protect biodiversity, not least for its carbon capturing capacity, and to address climate within a sustainable development framework. It also showed that international decision makers strongly support biodiversity and sustainable development as preferred options for guiding climate change frameworks. This is fully supportive of the TICOS philosophy and adds value and weight to our work. TICOS carbon offset funded projects put a strong emphasis on achieving sustainable development in addition to making carbon savings.
